Rachel Bean is the marketing assistant at Brain, Child. There are very few things that Rachel enjoys more than a good book, so what better way to spend her time that finding great books to promote to devoted Brain, Child readers?
Rachel earned her Bachelors in Fine Arts at Rockford University, where she spent three years working on the school’s newspaper, the Regent Reporter. Two of those years she was the Editor-in-Chief, during which time she took the Reporter from pamphlet form to a full-fledged newspaper. After that, she went on to receive her Masters in Writing and Publishing with a focus in young adult literature at DePaul University, and started working for Odd Tale Studios as the Editor-in-Chief. This spring Rachel will start her MFA in Creative Writing at Fairfield University in Connecticut.
Rachel is not currently a mother but has three adopted pups that she treats like her children. They routinely eat better than her, get better toys than her, and get much more affection that she offers anyone else. She can usually be found in her home in Chicago playing tug-a-war with one hand while replying to emails with the other.
